b'THE ELLESMERIAN In the Lent term, after a three-year absence, House Singing returned. The focus was on Big Band music and we got Louis Armstrongs Its a Wonderful World. During the intensive rehearsal period it became21clear that the House was determined to do well. We practised and practised and came a close second on the night. Lucy Conway took a lead on the Part Song and the entire group put on a lively and engaging performance. One other highlight of the year was the Meynell House Dinner. As in the past, parents attended in their droves to enjoy a formal meal in Dining Hall and listen to Charlie and Carmen review the year thus far with eloquence and humour. It was good to hear the shared laughter and see the communal spirit and it was a fitting send off for our two superb captains. Both will be missed and, in their footsteps, follow two more outstanding leaders, Marie Laccours and Joe Osborne, who will lead Meynell to yet more success in the new academic year. DB'
