b'The Common Room THE ELLESMERIAN Arrivals15Chris Horrocks - Director of Sport Chris brings a long and distinguished career in sport, sport management, and psychology to the school, having played basketball all over the world.Chris joined us most recently from The Bishop of Herefords Bluecoat School where he was Curriculum Team Leader for PE. Prior to this he taught in Kuwait, Bristol, Cardiff, and Chester.His playing and coaching career is even more distinguished. Inspired at age 13 to start playing by two teachersMr Croasdale and Mr Davieshe played at the highest level through his career from U15 Welsh team, Tonkawa High School (Oklahoma USA), Artland Dragons (German Division 1), Akranes (Iceland Division 1), Illiabum (Portugal Division 1), and back to the UK. He has played at the highest International level, representing Team GB. He has not only coached, managed, and developed teams through his playing career, but also whilst lecturing and undertaking his PhD in Sports Psychology at Cardiff University at the same time.Whilst at Ellesmere he aims to continue the growth of performance sport at the schoolincluding increasing the access to expertise and student welfare for performing student athletes, academic liaisons, and developing professional pathways for students to continue their sporting journey after Ellesmere. He aims to above all make fitness fun, accessible, and sustainable for all students!Jamie Williams - Head of Computer ScienceI graduated with an Honours degree in Computing and Information Systems and then went straight into industry. During that time, I worked for a variety of blue chip companies as an IT Manager and a Risk Manager and Project Manager, but then in 2016 took the plunge, gave up my position as an Information Systems Manager, and dived into teaching. I then graduated again with a PGCE in Computer Science from Chester University. My first school was in south Shropshire where I taught Computer Science and Music, but after 5 years there the position at Ellesmere College came up and I havent looked back since.'
