The Boys team won the the LTA Schools National Competition (Year 7/8), our Boys teamRegional Championship, beating teams from Nottingham, Leicester and qualified for the National Finals at Bolton, placing them in the Top 4 inBirmingham. Boys; Tomas Parr, Adam Jacques, Thomas Jacques, Cameron Parry, and Alex Popplewell. Girls: Sofie Glinos, SkyeOur players have missed out on the Aberdare Cup and Glanville Cup Thomas, Emily Males.events over the last two years due to Covid. This year our Girls team beat Oswestry, Thomas Telford, and Moreton Hall as they progressed to the regional rounds. They were only beaten by a very strong Worcestershire side in the round before the National finals. The Boys team beat Shrewsbury and Oswestry, also reaching the regional rounds. In the final they lost to a side from Birmingham. Our teams will be keen to improve on these results next year, as nearly all our first team players are here for another year.Individual successes.The Academy players have had some astonishing personal results over the year, winning National, Regional, and County titles around the UK. Our students have won events in Wales, Shropshire, Cheshire, Herefordshire, and around the country in Grade 3, 4, and 5 LTA tournaments. Sixteen players have represented their counties and Jemimah Choi is to be congratulated on playing internationally for Wales.
