Saturday Service Information 22/23

SATURDAY SERVICE

Saturday Service is Ellesmere College's public offering of traditional worship (Book of Common Prayer, Holy Communion.)

It is open to all members of the college and local community.

We hope to provide high quality liturgy, music, and preaching.

The service will often be followed by refreshments and a retiring collection for a local charity.

September the 10^th at 5:15pm

A choir of OEs will sing music by Barker, Coupe and Mozart.

There will be refreshments afterwards and a collection in aid of ECPS initiatives.

October the 8^th at 5:15pm

The college's Chapel Choir will sing music by Haydn, Davies, and Tallis.

Members of the Lower School will make their first Holy Communions.

There will refreshments afterwards and a collection for the work of Derwen College.

November 13^th at 10:50am

The College's Remembrance day Eucharist.

There will be refreshments afterwards and a collection in aid of the Royal British Legion.

There is also a lunch which follows for Old Ellesmerians, bookings must be made in advance for the Lunch.

December 24^th at 6:30pm

A service for Christmas with Plainsong, Carols, Candles and a Brass Ensemble.

Mince pies and mulled wine to follow and a collection in aid of Kids Bank Chester.

January 7^th at 7:30pm

Plough Sunday on a Saturday! Music from a choir of OE students.

There will be refreshments afterwards and a collection in aid of Shropshire Rural Support.

February 10^th at 5:15pm

Seren Devismes, a professional Soprano, will sing for us at this service.

Ellesmere Town Mayor will be in attendance and there will be a collection in aid of her nominated charities, the local food bank is among these.

March 18^th at 5:15

A service for Mothering Sunday on a Saturday. The Lower School Choir will join us.

There will be a refreshments afterwards.
