International Admissions Golf Academy Overview
The Golf Platform
The Ellesmere College Golf Academy provides a professional platform for pupils to take their golf to a higher level whilst undertaking their academic studies. The full-time programme gives a minimum of 6-hours supervision of practice and tuition a week. The programmes are designed to develop all aspects of the pupils game to include the long and short game, golf fitness, the mental game, course management and tournament preparation. The use of video analysis helps the pupils understand the importance of ball flight and shot shaping.
The Performance Programme
During the year, we have visiting coaches giving lectures in sports nutrition and sports psychology, plus advice and guidance for application to American universities for golf scholarships. Tournament play is an important part of the academy's structure both regionally and nationally. • British Schools Golf Events • English Schools Golf Association Events • Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) • The Independent Association of Prep School Events (IAPS) • England Golf Tournament Preparation: Reid Trophy/McGregor Trophy/Carris Trophy
Students have the opportunity to play at championship golf courses including Macdonald Hill Valley. Academy players will be able to access a golf driving range, Skytrak launch monitor, smart golf simulators, motion putting analysis as well as the full 18 hole golf course. Wide ranges of specialist academic subjects are on offer, and these can be taken as GCSE, IGCSE,A Level, International Baccalaureate (IB) and BTEC qualifications
