Ellesmere has an excellent record of helping students achieve their potential for progressing into higher education. Football players are able to continue to play football in university while achieving a qualification of their choice. Ellesmere has excellent relationships with a wide number of Russell Group universities and the support given to the students in getting these offers is unique and proven successful.

UCLAN

UCLAN is one of the UKs fastest growing universities, currently undergoing a £35 million transformation. It is based in the city of Preston, just 45 minutes from Manchester.

Sport is a large faculty at UCLAN, and recently they have approached the IHM academy to form a link to their brand new Football Studies Degree. This link means that any student, who has been with us at Ellesmere will be guaranteed an interview for entry into their sports courses, subject to having the correct grades from studies. We can then assist a direct application to the university to help set you on your way to the next level in your studies.

BRAND NEW FOOTBALL STUDIES DEGREE - Starting in September, this degree is a business degree based around the world of football. BUT - within this degree there will be timetabled coaching as a team, something other university courses don't do. UCLAN will be offering sessions to develop students as players and making links with semi-professional and non-league side in the UK to help students progress. So not only will students study a business of football degree, but will have the chance to play.

US Scholarship Routes

Ellesmere Football Academy works closely with "Soccer Assist" to enable those ambitious and talented players to explore the opportunities available to them with the US Scholarship system. Students will work on creating their online profile and will be supported on their journey with SAT online programmes and tuition. The players will then take part in a fully professional assessment day and this helps to inform the coaches of the levels and potential of the payers. Soccer Assist then work closely with the players of the Ellesmere Academy to establish excellent offers into US College programmes.

Global Scouting

Footballers Global are an online platform, specifically for the football community, where Ellesmere players can have a profile and keep updating it with comments, pictures and videos. We have a unique partnership with them to now allow all our players a FREE premium listing, and with that the Footballers global director, has said every one of our players who builds a profile, he will specifically highlight them to the scouts on the scouting section of the platform.

Professional Football Academies

Ellesmere is ideally situated for football players to access a number of professional clubs. Located within easy traveling distance of the Manchester and Liverpool areas, the academy has well-established working links with many professional football clubs in the North West of England from Premier League to part time semi pro. Players are often identified during their time at the academy by professional club scouts and coaching staff attending school games, at the open trials, during visiting guest coaching sessions and train and play visits. If a player is exceptionally talented there is potential to progress from academy to professional player.
