Following a Year 7 Geography challenge to create a river contour model, set for completion over the Christmas holidays, the winners have recently been announced.

All the Year 7 students participated in the challenge and were busy over the Christmas holidays constructing their contour models ready for judging.

Rhiann Jackson, Head of Geography explained �At the start of the academic year, as part of the Geography course Year 7 pupils spend time learning, and putting into action, basic map skills. This year�s entries were outstanding and proved very difficult to judge. Our congratulations to all the winners.

There were 6 winners in total, Fred Wild, Jack Otter, Elizabeth Walsh, Michael Von-Hoven, Ellie Hutchings and Andrew Nelhans.

This term the young Geographers are learning about earthquakes and volcanoes. Their challenge during the Easter holidays will be to create a volcano, together with exploding effects. Richard Macintosh, Geography teacher commented, �For many of our past Year 7�s this project has been the highlight of their year and with the standard achieved with the rover contours, I look forward to seeing what is achieved with this project.

For families of primary school aged children, there will be the opportunity to visit the School on Saturday 24th March, at the annual Lower School Open Morning between 10am and 12 noon.
