The Ellesmere College Carolyn S Newbold Leadership Award Cup was presented recently to a Year 9 pupil who joined the School in Year 4.
Mrs Carolyn Newbold, former Head of Lower School and School Govenor, donated the award to the School's Lower School to be presented annually to a pupil who displayed outstanding performances in a range of activities.
Tom Sloan, last years Lower School Head Boy, who started in Middle School earlier this month, was the second recipient of the Award and received the Cup from Mrs Sharon Owen, Head of Lower School. Mrs Owen commented, Tom epitomises the true Ellesmerian spirit, he is a talented games player and natural leader, balancing his academic work with a busy sports training schedule. During his year as Lower School Head Boy, he proved to be an impressive Lower School role model and thoroughly deserves this prestigious award.
Whilst Tom has a small cup to proudly display at home, the CSN Leadership Cup has been replaced in the Lower School Trophies cabinet and will be presented again at the end of this academic year to another deserving young pupil.
