Over 70 artists and sculptors from all over the UK have now been confirmed to exhibit up to 300 pieces of art for sale. Maximillion Baccanello has gained an international reputation as a top portrait painter. His workshop on Friday 30th May will explore a variety of drawing techniques and tools, where participants will be able to develop a wide range of drawing techniques.
Max recently exhibited in London at the Society of Portrait Sculptors Exhibition at the Cork Street Gallery, where he was awarded the Tiranti Prize for Under 30s Sculptor of the Year. His most recent painting of the Caudwell Family Portrait was unveiled and displayed at Blenheim Palace.
RCA Sonja Benskin Mesher will provide a day to investigate and approach drawing in its broadest and most experimental sense on Thursday 29th May, whilst visual landscape artist Andrew Vaughan will be looking at expressive landscapes for beginners and advanced artists on Saturday 31st May.
With over 600 visitors last year, the aim of the arts exhibition is the raise the profile of the arts in the region.
Nick Pettingale, Director of External Relations at Ellesmere, said "We have always been passionate about the Arts at Ellesmere College and after our inaugural exhibition last year we are even more excited about this year's event. Our goal is to see the artistic talent, both local and national, celebrated and given a higher profile in the region. This isn't a display of our students work, great though that is, but rather that of professional artists and sculptors".
"There will be something for every taste and pocket, you can buy for your home, seek an investment piece for the future or simply enjoy the stimulation of seeing some of the nation's most outstanding professional artists exhibiting in the splendour of the Big School Hall at Ellesmere".
The exhibition will also feature a preview evening hosted by its Patron Mr Algy Heber-Percy, the Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire, on Wednesday 28th May from 7.30 to 9.00pm. Normal opening hours will be Thursday 29th May to Saturday 31st May from 11.00am to 9.00pm and Sunday 1st June 11.00am to 4.00pm
