Titans Win Top Award at City of Salford Swim Meet.

At this years City of Salford Potential Olympian Short Course Open Swimming Meet, which was held at Broughton Pool, over the Halloween weekend of the 30th and 31st October, Ellesmere College Titan swimmers once again swam their way into the record books.

Competing against some of the best swimmers from all over the Midlands and North West the Titans secured a total of  more than 25 medals, 34 Personal Best times, 6 new club Records and were awarded the overall top boy swimmer award.

Hector Pardoe (age 9) won 8 gold and 2 silver medals as well as securing the overall trophy for the top boy of the meet. During the meet Hector swam his way to five current number 1 UK short course age group ranking positions in the 200m butterfly (2:56.67); 200m backstroke (2:50.67), 400m Individual Medley; and the 200 & 400m freestyle events. His 400m IM time of 6:07.98 is the 6th fastest time ever recorded by a 9 year old in Britain.

10 year old Ellie Hutchings smashed the existing Titan Age Group records in the 50m freestyle, and the 100m & 200m backstroke.

Llawen Rossell-Smith, age 13, demonstrated why she is one of the most exciting young breaststroke swimmers in the region by winning gold medals in the 50m, 100m & 200m breaststroke events.

 Other Titan swimmers who were in action at the Salford meet included Elliot Hughes (aged 13), Alfie Pardoe (aged 12), Michael Doyle (age 10),Luke Parker (age 11), Shannon Davies (age 10), Ellie Hutchings (age 10), Kate Haworth (age 9), Elinor Haworth (age 10), Jack Bacon (age 11) Tom Lloyd (age 12), Luc Jarzynski (age 11), Ellie Russell (age 10), Sunetra Chaterjee (age 10), Kieron Morris (age 9), Anouska Gwilliam (age 13), Lucy Rowland (age 12), Beatrice Roberts (age 13), Anais Mee (age 10), Eleanor Shields (age 11), and Georgia Bruce (age 13),

Titans Head Coach Jon Pardoe said It was a remarkable achievement to have secured this many PBs so early in the season. It bodes very well for the future.
