Four Ellesmere College swimmers represented Swim England's West Midland Regional swimming team at this year's 10th Amiens International Open Meet in France.
Henrietta D'Ammassa (St Aiden's), Katie Hale (Lower School), Alex Rosser-Barnett (St Cuthbert's) and George Smith (St Patrick's) joined 20 swimmers from Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Worcestershire as part of their preparations for this year's quest to first qualify for, and to win medals at, their targeted national swimming competitions.
Hettie, Katie, Alex and George all train in the Age Performance squad of the Ellesmere College Titans swim programme. By being selected to represent the region, they follow in the footsteps of the Titans that have gone before and prepare to carry on the success of the programme as the senior squad members progress on to University programmes.
Commenting on their selection and performance, Marc Foster (Head of Age Performance) says, "The squad is full of talent and potential and it is always great to see swimmers progressing and following in the footsteps of their forbears. They did well in Amiens, and will have learnt a lot from the experience and have returned in good spirits. Hopefully they will now 'kick on' in training ready to win the coveted places at nationals."
