Following an impressive series of matches, at County level and Regional knock-out stage, the Under 15 Girls and Boys Tennis Teams have qualified for the Aegon League Regional Under 15 Championships that will take place in the near future in Nottingham.
It has been a successful year for the Schools Tennis Academy. In June the Girls 1st team represented Great Britain at the World Schools Championships that took place in France and now it is the turn of the U15 teams to be fighting for yet another national title. Both teams have played and won their matches at County and Regional challenge rounds to qualify as one of 16 teams from around the Country to play for the title.
Travelling to Nottingham Tennis Centre, to compete in the 1 day event, the 4 girls are, Harriet Jones, Olivia Jones, Kotryna Calova, Jessica Oldham and Catriona Jones as reserve. The Boys U15 team members are Sam Chapman, Florian Guenter, Sammy Leung, Teddy Hall.
Accompanying the Girls teams to the competition will be Nikki Hoy, Director of Tennis Academy, who commented, This is a very exciting development for the Ellesmere College Tennis Academy, since it is the first time since the launch of the Academy that both a Boys and Girls teams have qualified for this prestigious national championship.
