Summer Adventure+

This summer, Ellesmere College is again holding its highly successful Adventure+ course. The course which is for children 11 to 15 years old offers a week of challenging activities, run by outdoor pursuits expert Martin Digby.

The first week of the course will be starting next week Monday 26th July with participants taking part in 2 days of Canoeing on Ellesmere, then later in the week rock climbing sessions will take place off site at either Pant or Llangollen. These sessions will be run by Martin Digby who has years of experience with outdoor pursuits activities and has been involved with Adventure+ since its introduction in 2009. The week will culminate with a visit to Rednal go-karting track. The participants also get the opportunity to swim, play sports and much more whilst on site at Ellesmere under the guidance of Ellesmere College activity leaders and sports centre manager Chris Rogers who organises the courses.

During August a second week of the course will take place from Monday 16th August through to Friday 20th August. Theses activities will again be led by Martin Digby alongside the Ellesmere College team. This course will include another visit to Ellesmere to kayak instead of canoeing giving individuals the opportunity to develop their skills further. The groups will also travel to Pant with Martin Digby who will be teaching the group the basics of orienteering in a new location and at the end of the week the groups will visit the Adventure Ropes Course at Albrighton as they did on the Easter course to take part in a number of high activities. Chris commented, the aim of the course is to really push the participants to go a little further and get past any fear they may have of heights or small spaces.

Chris Rogers added Adventure+ has really taken off and is developing each holiday, this year we are offering 2 completely different weeks of activities and we are really looking forward to it. We think it will help young teenagers to develop important skills for the future in a fun environment
