Ellesmere College celebrated arts award week with a number of workshops aimed at celebrating 10 years of the Arts Council England Arts Award.
Students got involved in a number of workshops from creative writing, painting and dance, whilst getting involved in a Twitter Q&A session to share top tips and advice with artists, performers, young creatives, entrepreneurs, and arts industry employers.
Ellesmere was the first independent school in the Midlands, to earn the first Artsmark Platinum Award from the Arts Council. The school was praised for the high quality of education in all the key subjects, including art, creative writing, dance, drama, music, technical theatre and media technology.
Since 'Start Your Arts Award Day' in October 2015, organisations have been supporting the Arts Councils aspiration to reach 250,000 awards in their 10th year.
Director of Drama Rachel Schubert, who helped co-ordinate the school's bid for the award said: "'I was delighted that Ellesmere College's dynamic arts education was nationally recognised. Holding Artsmark status means we are leading the way in providing children and young people with excellent arts and cultural experiences. Our involvement in this week provides students with opportunities to get involved in a range of activities and learn from industry professionals".
Arts Award Week, which runs from the 2 - 10 July, provides supporting venues with a platform to shout about their successes in the community.
