As part of the long-standing relationship between Ellesmere College and the Tabor Academy near Boston, USA, a group of students from across the Atlantic have recently spent a week residing at the School as they went on tour around North Shropshire.
The cast of 11 with a pupil technician were accompanied by their directors, Mr John Heavey and Mr Mark Howland. This talented and versatile ensemble of actors performed a funny and fast paced production of Leslie Cavenys Love of a Pig.
There were performances at Bishops Bluecoat C of E High School in Chester and Moreton Hall, near Oswestry as well as at Ellesmere College. The performance in the Arts Centre was to a packed and enthusiastic audience of pupils, staff and parents.
Richard Boswell, the Head of Drama commented, The students loved being in the UK and made some firm friends with Ellesmere College students and also with their audiences. This was a return visit by the American students following our pupils tour of Jane Eyre to the USA last year.
