Riding High: Ellesmere Equestrian Team Qualify for Hickstead

The Ellesmere College Equestrian team had a great weekend at the Southview Equestrian Centre on Sunday 15th for the NSEA National Dressage Qualifiers and NSEA Hickstead Elite Showjumping Qualifiers.

The Showjumping Classes were a qualifier for the Hurst College National Schools Championships at Hickstead later in the year and we are delighted that in the 1.10m class Harriet Otter and Annie - Yr 11 - took a faultless round and came first! Our Yr 5 entry - Immy Spencer-Blow - once again showed her maturity and confidence and took 2nd & 3rd places!

The top two places qualify so both Harriet and Immy have qualified, and all being well, will jump at Hickstead on 1st August.

In the Dressage Arena - the Ellesmere Dressage team put up a strong front as individual entries with both our Yr 10 entries qualifying for the NSEA Plate Championships in October:

Anna Maughan - Yr 10 - 5th in the preliminary dressage

Tabitha Leonard - Yr 10 - 7th the Novice dressage

Emily Curzon - Yr 9 - 14 years old - unfortunately not places but a great ride out on a young horse.

Congratulations once again to all the members of the Equestrian Team - a fantastic showing and set of results!
