RAF Cadets Fly High at Area Competition

A 13 strong team from the RAF section of the Combined Cadet Force attended their first area competition in 17 years at RAF Cosford on Sunday 30th November. The very young but enthusiastic team, led by Cdt Sgt Sam Squires, 17, finished 9th overall having spent the day being put through their paces in a number of exercises, which included: marching drills, shooting, first aid, leadership, RAF history, and aircraft recognition.

Sad. Ldr. Debbie Joynson-Brooke said "It was a long day but we held our heads high, finishing 9th out of 12 regional cadet teams. They were all significantly older than our pupils, but it was a good start for us and one that I am sure will make our cadets even stronger for next year's event.
