Porthywaen Silver Band to Perform for Local Charities

As part of the Schools long-standing support to Hope House and the Ellesmere and District Age Concern Day Centre, the School will be hosting a Midwinter Concert in aid of both local charities early in the New Year.

On Saturday 29th January, the sound of music will fill the School's Big School, when the Porthywaen Silver Band will again delight their audience with a performance full of sparkle and surprises. They will be joined by the Ellesmere College Choral Society, conducted by Roger Paul, Director of Music at the School.

Roger commented, The Ellesmere College Choral Society are looking forward to welcoming the Porthywaen Silver Band back to the School and performing with them. The concert will include songs from the shows of Les Miserables and South Pacific.

The concert on Saturday 29th January 2011 will commence at 7.30pm. The ticket price is 5 which will include a glass of wine and interval refreshments. Tickets can be purchased from Ellesmere College Enterprises, via enterprises@ellesmere.com or by calling 01691 626505; Fred Roberts, The Square, Ellesmere and Averil MacDonald on 01691 622510.

I am also grateful to the School for allowing us to hold the event in Big School. I anticipate that tickets will be in demand, so encourage interested parties to reserve their places sooner rather than later.
