On the day that the Christmas Trees lights were switched on, it was the turn of a group of creative Ellesmere College mothers and their friends to spend a day together learning new skills in the Schools Arts Centre.
The days course was organised by the Parents Society and gave mothers of new pupils the opportunity to get to know fellow parents and have fun together at the start of the Schools Christmas celebrations.
Parent and manager of the Schools uniform shop, Jane Powell, led the mornings workshop with the creation of cup-cake bouquets. After a buffet lunch, there were 2 further creative sessions, the making of delicate pottery Christmas tree decorations and beautifully crafted Christmas wreaths, made out of willow.
Helen Ainge, Chairperson of the Parents Society, commented, I was delighted by how the day went. There was much laugher amongst the talented group of mothers with everyone returning home with a box of beautiful Christmas items. The annual pupils Christmas tree lighting event with the singing of Carols by the Lower School Choir, finished the day off wonderfully.
