Opportunity For Young Leaders

This summer Ellesmere College, in conjunction with the Stars Group, is offering a one-week Sports leadership course. The Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful candidates to lead small groups in simple sport and recreational activities whilst under the direct supervision of their tutor.

The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit.

Chris Rogers, Sports Centre Manager, is delighted that the College is offering this opportunity to all young leaders from 14 years and older in the area. The course will be based in the Schools� Sports Hall from Monday 27^th to Friday 31^st July and runs from 9am to 5pm.

Chris says �It is a great course for children of this age to be involved in, they can take a lot from it, not just in the sports side but also school and social life for the future. The blend of theory and practical sessions will be extremely useful for the children to gain invaluable experience whilst on the course.�
