Non-Uniform Day Proceeds Donated to Help for Heroes

On Friday 4th February, Ellesmere College pupils enjoyed a day of wearing their own clothes and in so doing raised over 680 for Help for Heroes.

Support to this national charity began at Ellesmere College last summer when a group of Year 9 pupils, whilst working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, compiled a Cookbook which was launched in the School and raised 1,350 for Help For Heroes.

This terms non-uniform day embraced not only pupils of all ages but also staff from across the whole School. Chaplin, Father David Slim, Chaplain, commented, we all remain very aware of the hardships and sacrifices being made by our Armed Forces and it is very fitting that this should be recognised through the donating of the proceeds from this terms non-uniform day to Help For Heroes.
