Ellesmere College Pupil to Play for Wales

An Ellesmere College pupil has recently been selected to play golf for the Boys Under 16 Welsh Squad.

 

Rhodri Fieldhouse, a Year 11 pupil at Ellesmere College, has already achieved a handicap of 6. During the year, he has won the Wrexham Golf Club 2006 Winter League, and is theRoyal St. David's Junior Open Champion. Rhodri is also the current Under 16 County Champion as well as the current Carden Park Junior Champion.

 

As a longstanding member of Wrexham Golf Club Rhodri is a key member of the Junior Team as well as being in the Denbighshire County U16 Team who are the current Welsh Champions. He is also a member of the North Wales U16 Team who will playing in the final of the Welsh Inter-Club Championship at Builth Wells in two weeks time.

 

Dr. Tom Gareh, Master in Charge of Golf at Ellesmere College commented 'Rhodri has achieved much with his golf to-date. He can often be found practicing, alongside other pupils, on the School's 9-hole golf course. We all wish him every success in the forthcoming Welsh Inter-Club Championship.'
