Lower School's elite swimmers displayed the benefits of all of their hard work in training to deliver an impressive set of performances at this year's Shropshire County Swimming Championships. Amassing an extraordinary total of 108 medals over the three consecutive weekends of arduous competition, they dominated the podiums in each of their age groups.
Winning 41 gold medals between them, every Lower School swimmer won multiple medals and almost all of them were crowned a County Champion in at least one event. In doing so, many of them scaled the heights of the British Rankings and together they helped the full Titans squad to take the Top Club honours at this year's Championships for the sixth consecutive year.
On an individual basis, Henrietta D'Ammassa, Oliver Covill and Jacob Lee won the Top Swimmer Awards for their respective age groups, whilst Jake Hutchinson and Katie Hale topped the medal table amongst their peers.
Some notable individual performances also saw Jake Hutchinson (2), Katie Hale, Henrietta D'Ammassa and Rosie Linley set new Titan club records for their respective ages.
Jake Hutchinson also went one step further by setting new County Records in both the 50M Backstroke and also the 50M Butterfly for 12 year olds. In all, Ellesmere College Titans set 12 new County Records this year, which now sees them hold two thirds of all of the possible record categories.
After a great start to this year's competitive calendar, we wish all of our Titans well in their preparations for the forthcoming Regional Championships.
