Equestrian Team Jump for Joy in Summer Success!

It's been a summer of success for our Ellesmere Equestrian Team at a number of events across the country!

Even though some restrictions were still in place, the showjumping team managed to compete at Hartpury College in June which was a qualifier for the NSEA Championships in October. Most schools had 4 members to each team, however, Ellesmere had only 3 with Jake Stockton, Oliver Loud and Immy Spencer-Blow working extra hard for the team and definitely delivering some exceptional results as every round counts!

In the 80-85cm class, the team all jumped clear, fast rounds and finished 2nd out of 16 teams! This means that as well already having qualified for the NSEA Championships at 90cm, Ellesmere will also send riders to the championships for both the 80cm class too!

Individual results were: Immy came 4th (top 4 riders also qualify as individuals too), Jake 8th and Olly 19th out of 80 competitors.

In the 90-95cm class - Jake & Olly finished 5th & 15th respectively, out of a huge class of 68 riders.

We can't wait to see how the team get on in the NSEA Championships in October!

Later in the summer, Harriet Otter and Annie travelled to 'The All England Jumping Course at Hickstead' to compete in the Elite 1.10m Championship for a second time, and finished within the Top 10 representing the school - what a fantastic result for them both!

Harriet said of her experience there, 'I feel so lucky to have qualified for a second time for the 'Elite 1m10 championship' at Hickstead representing the school. It was amazing to jump in the International Arena with my horse Annie. She really rose to the occasion and made me extremely proud, jumping double clear and finishing in the top 10!'

Congratulations to all our Ellesmere Equestrian riders and good luck in the next round of the NSEA Championships!
