Ironman Chris Earns a Place in History Books

Quarter Master Chris Collins has entered the history books after completing his fifth Iron Man Wales Challenge.

Chris is now one of only twenty five athletes in the world to have survived all five triathlons. This year the competition attracted over 2,400 athletes, who represented 30 different countries, in the annual Ironman Wales triathlon in Tenby.

Athletes who secured a place in Ironman Wales took the plunge on Tenby's north beach from 7am for a 2.4 mile, two-lap sea swim, all to be completed in 17 hours. From there they headed off on a 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 marathon distance run. He started competing in 2011 came 93 in his division after completing the course in 15 hours and 29 minutes.

Chris said " After all the training and dedication over the years, it's nice to be able to say that I came through every challenge and finished every one of the five incredible triathlons".
