Harry Potter comes to Ellesmere College

There was an air of Harry Potter excitement around the College Arts Centre recently when a cast of two actors performed their hour-long play, 'Potted Potter', to three full houses and to a combined audience of 450 enjoying every minute.

The performers, Dan and Jeff, were delighted by the response they received from the audience at each performance. There was much audience participation, including a game of Quidditch when the two sides of the audience competed against each other. The especially concocted non-alcoholic Potter cocktails that were available before the evening performance, even received a mention during this performance.

Lower School pupils were the first to be entertained on the Wednesday afternoon, followed in the evening by an enthusiastic mix of Senior School pupils, staff, parents and members of the local community. On the Thursday morning, seven local primary schools again filled the auditorium.

Richard Boswell, the Arena Arts Programme Director, commented: 'Everyone enjoyed the crazy humour and fast paced action. The cast were impressed with the welcome and hospitality they received during their brief stay in North Shropshire and we look forward to inviting Dan and Jeff back in the future for more madness and mayhem!'.
