Following their participation in the Aegon League Regional Under 15 Schools Championships, the School's U15 Girls team competed recently in the Finals.
Having played and won their matches at County and Regional challenge rounds, the team progressed onto the Regional Finals. Following success in the Regional Finals the School team was 1 of just 4 school teams from around the Country to play for the national title.
It has been a successful year for the Schools Tennis Academy. In June the Girls 1st team represented Great Britain at the World Schools Championships that took place in France in May and recently it was the turn of the U15 Girls teams to fight for yet another national title.
Travelling to Bolton for the Finals weekend were Harriet Jones, Olivia Jones, Kotryna Calova, Jessica Oldham and Catriona Jones. Accompanying the Girls teams was Nikki Hoy, Director of Ellesmere College Tennis Academy, who commented, This is a very exciting time for the Ellesmere College Tennis Academy, the U15 Girls teams wasted no time in the early stages of the Championships to lead Ellesmere in to the Finals for the 5th consecutive year. The team worked really hard all weekend and finished 3rd in the Country. The standard was very high and the girls rose to the challenge and played brilliantly.
Families of talented young tennis players are invited to visit the School on Saturday 28th January, 2012 for the fourth annual Academy Day which will be held between 10.30am and 2.30pm.
