Former GAP Student Returns to Run Drama Workshops
This week has seen the return of a former Theatre GAP Student to run a series of A level and GCSE drama workshops.
Maura Van Voris from Boston, Massachutusetts, USA, first visited Ellesmere College whilst at school at the Tabor Academy and toured to the UK, staying and performing at the School. She then spent the academic year 2006/7 as the first Arena Arts Centre Manager before starting a degree course back in the USA at The Hartt School of Music, Dance and Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut. Now in her third year studying for a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Actor Training, Maura was invited to return before commencing a 3 month Intensive Shakespeare study in Birmingham.
Maura commented, It has been a delight to return to Ellesmere and witnessing the development of individuals as well as catching-up with former colleagues and understanding the exciting developments with the Schools Arena Arts Programme.
Richard Boswell, Director of the Arena Arts Programme added, We are always keen to catch-up with former GAP students and I was particularly delighted to be able to offer Maura the opportunity to run some voice and speech, movement, text and Shakespeare workshops.
