Whilst those spending February in Shropshire shivered their way through sub zero temperatures, The Schools senior footballers headed for sunnier climes with a five day tour in southern Spain. A squad of sixteen players played two fixtures against local opposition.
The group also received an introduction to the finer arts of futsal, a variation of Football played on a smaller pitch and paddle tennis, both very popular Spanish pastimes. The group were accompanied on the trip by Master in charge of football Liam Bambridge and First XI Coach Jonny Morgan.
Liam Bambridge commented: it was a wonderful experience for all the lads, playing against top quality opponents and sampling many of the delights of the Costa del Sol that British tourists and ex pats rarely get to see. We will definitely be repeating the trip next year.
