England Representation for U16 Rugby Boys

As the rugby season ended and the cricket nets replaced the rugby posts, for 2 Year 11 boys, this also saw the end of a particularly exciting time in their rugby playing as they had the opportunity to represent England in a string of international matches over the Easter holidays.

Colin Dickson from Shrewsbury and Louis Chaudron from Bridgnorth, both joined the School in Year 9 as rugby scholars and for the last 3 years have successfully combined their education with the development of their rugby playing at the School. Rising through the County, district and then regional sides, earlier this year, Colin Dickson was selected to represent England at Under 16 level and Louis Chaudron was selected to play for the England A side. Both boys have been training regularly with other elite development players from around the UK.

Colin played in a match against the Italys Under 17 team and the Under 16 match against Wales, in which he scored 2 tries. Louis played in the international festival held at Wellington School playing against Scotland, France and Canada.

Ian Williams, Director of Sport and one of the Schools Senior Rugby Coaches commented, Both Colin and Louis are dedicated young sportsmen who are keen to focus not only on their education but on developing their rugby talent. We wish them well as they continue to ensure their fitness levels are the best for the start of next season, which should then put them in good stead for future caps.
