Ellesmere to Host Sports Academy Day in January 2014

Ellesmere will be holding its sixth annual Academy Day on Saturday 25th January 2014, between 10.30am and 2.30pm. The day provides a unique opportunity to experience the excellent sports facilities at the School and to learn more about each Academy.

Ellesmere has in place a sporting programme that aims to produce international standard individuals in Cricket, Rugby, Shooting, Swimming, Golf and Tennis. The Academy Day is an opportunity to meet the coaches involved, understand the philosophy and look at the opportunities to be gained from the scholarship programme.

Numerous pupils and staff representatives from the Academies will be present as well as members of the Titans, Ellesmere Colleges elite swimming development programme. There will also be time for one-on-one discussions with the Headmaster and the Academy Directors.

Ian Williams, Director of Sport explained, "In previous years we have been delighted with the response we have received for Academy Days and we have explored ways the School can help secure places through scholarships and bursaries, for our sports-talented young visitors."
