Ellesmere Set to Host National Arts Exhibition

With over 600 visitors last year, the aim of the arts exhibition is the raise the profile of the arts in the region and this year will also be a first for young up and coming artists to exhibit, many of whom have never exhibited before. Nick Pettingale, Director of External Relations at Ellesmere said "We have always been passionate about the Arts at Ellesmere College and after our inaugural exhibition last year, we are even more excited about this year's event. Our goal is to see the artistic talent, both local and national, celebrated and given a higher profile in the region. This isn't a display of our students work, great though that is, but rather that of professional artists and sculptors. However, since last year's exhibition, we have one Sixth Form student winning a place at St Martin's College of Art and another on her way to the New York School of Visual Arts, the gathering of talent on display has that effect on our students. There will be something for every taste and pocket, you can buy for your home, seek an investment piece for the future or simply enjoy the stimulation of seeing some of the nation's most outstanding professional artists exhibiting in the splendor of the Big School Hall at Ellesmere. All the profits from the sale of works will create an Arts Scholarship enabling a talented youngster to follow their own dream of becoming an artist too".
