A group of 18 students have been celebrating their Duke of Edinburgh Award success, when they received their prizes from Debbie Felstead, DofE Operations manager at a special celebration event. Students were presented with their awards, which included eleven Bronze and seven Silver.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is open to young people aged between 14 and 25 years and offers a wide range of activities and community participation, including volunteering, arts, crafts, personal and physical development, teamwork skills and leadership. Gold participants also have to complete a residential element to successfully complete their award.
Director of Activities, Debbie Joynson-Brooke, said "The young people honoured at this year's ceremony should all be very proud of their achievements. They have worked incredibly hard and have shown real determination. Not only that, but they have learned a lot about themselves along the way. It takes a significant amount of effort and commitment to achieve an award, whether at Bronze, Silver or Gold level".
