Ellesmere Pupils Achieve Gold in Primary Mathematics Challenge 2006

A group of Year 5 and 6 Pupils recently participated in the Primary Mathematics Challenge with two of them successfully receiving gold certificates, nine achieving silver certificates and a further nine, Bronze Certificates.

The two Ellesmere College Pupils who were success in achieving Gold Certificates were

Peter Nelhans and Ioan Parry-Jones, both in Year 6. Silver Certificates were achieved by

Hannah Rogers, Declan Roberts, Craig Tattersall, Cameron Beswick, Sam Fearn, Tom Price, Emma Greville, all in Year 6 as well as Georgia Bruce and William Doerr in Year 5.

There were also a number of Bronze Certificate achievers and in Year 6 they were, Hayden Edge-Roberts, Amber Cauchi, Amelia Morris and Harvey Ricketts, as well as . Milli Macliam-Roberts, Patrick O'Brien, Sara Jackson, Guy Hunter and Jacob Roberts in Year 5.

Elaine Phillips, the Key Stage 2 Numeracy Coordinator at Ellesmere College's Lower School commented; 'This is the first time that the School has entered Year 5 and Year 6 pupils into the Primary Mathematics Challenge and I am delighted that the pupils rose to the challenge and did so well.'
