Ellesmere Players help North Midlands U18 win Midlands Competition

Four members of Ellesmere College's 1st Rugby team have also spent the season playing in the North Midlands U18 team. On 5th November North Midlands beat East Midlands in the final game of the championships to win the competition. Having already beaten both Staffordshire and Warwickshire, North Midlands won an entertaining match 34-24.

Paul Goodwin, Director of the Rugby Academy, commented: "Ellesmere College had four players selected for the North Midlands team, although unfortunately Joel Galley was unable to play due to injury. However, he will, along with the other players, Ben Morris, James King and Rhys Hayes, be considered for selection for the Midlands squad. This is the next step on the route to a final trial for full England selection which is a tremendous achievement for them all."
