Ellesmere College is celebrating success on the netball courts after returning victorious from the U19 County Netball Plate Tournament. The team managed to beat off stiff competition in the finals, beating Thomas Telford 10 - 1, Shrewsbury Sixth Form 6 - 2 and Concord College 7 - 2. The competition culminated with the game of the tournament against Shrewsbury School, which saw Ellesmere College secure a 5 - 3 victory.
Helen Davenport, Head of PE at Ellesmere, said "We are very proud of the standard of sport that we play at Ellesmere College, we have a broad range of activities and encourage every pupil to take part, no matter what their ability, for the sheer joy of participating. Our most recent win at the U19 Netball Plate Tournament is a huge achievement for the team, they have played so well throughout and winning the final against Shrewsbury School was a great result".
