Ellesmere College Wins U12 North Shropshire Netball Tournament

Feeling confident after finishing runners-up in the County Plate Competition two days earlier, the Ellesmere College's U12 Netball team went on to win this year's North Shropshire U12 Netball Tournament

During the Tournament, which was also held at Ellesmere College, the U12 team won all their first round matches quite comfortably, beating Marches 5-1, Moreton Hall 7-0 and The Grove 5-0.

The passing between Ellie Halstead and Emma Greville was excellent and they provided the possession to the shooters, Tara Goodwin and Olivia Jones, who didn't miss many attempts with their shooting.

In the semi-final, the Ellesmere team faced Oswestry School, which they went on to win 6-2. The final was then against the Marches and this was to prove a more challenging match. Initially playing cautiously, once they started to score they re-established their successful playing rhythm and won 4 -1.

Helen Goss, Head of PE and Girls Games, commented, 'Well done to all the girls who have played their part in the U12 Netball team this term. This was a great achievement and an excellent finish to what has been a successful netball term for the U12 Girls.'
