A Sixth Form student at Ellesmere College has recently received confirmation that she has been selected to run in the London Marathon in April.
Mary Pescod, a student in the upper sixth and studying for A-levels in Geography, English and PE, has been running four times a week since September to prepare herself for the challenge of participating in the London Marathon for the first time.
Mary's aim is to have a career in the Police Force and between training and studying, Mary, who has recently had her 18th birthday, has started a 13-week course to become a Special Constable. Through sponsorship for her participation in the London Marathon Mary has chosen to support the charity, Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
