Ellesmere College have made an excellent start to the new rugby season. The 1st XV have proved their strength in the Shropshire County with wins over Wrekin (64-0) and Adam's Grammar (33-0) in the Daily Mail National Cup to move into Round 4 against Nottingham High. Ellesmere College U15 XV have reached the fourth round of the same tournament for the second year running. Their latest victims were the County Cup winners of the previous year, Charlton School from Telford. So far this season the team have won five of their six matches rattling up over 200 points in the process.

 

The County selection this season has seen 7 players from Ellesmere at U16 level including Mike Brown, Hugh Wignall, Jake Taylor, Bryn Phillips, Ollie Brereton, William Goodwin and Ben Brooks. Ben Brooks, William Goodwin and Bryn Phillips have also been selected for the North Midlands U16 team. From the U18 team Mark Padgett and Lloyd Hayes have been selected for the North Midlands and Henry Hackett for Cheshire.
