Two Ellesmere College pupils, Matthew Macintosh in Year 10 and Sam Owen in Year 9, have both played for County Rugby and County Cricket recently. During the Winter months they have been representing Shropshire at rugby while undertaking Winter net sessions for cricket in preparation for the Summer.
Head of PE, Helen Goss, commented "This double Shropshire representation is quite a unique achievement by Matthew and Sam as they have been successfully combining playing in two sports at County level over the last few months. Both boys are very committed to their sports whilst managing to display a conscientious attitude to their academic studies. Here at Ellesmere College we thrive on fostering an environment where this level of achievement is attainable and wish both boys well as the forthcoming cricket session unfolds."
