Following a series of well-attended Ellesmere College Parents Society events over the last year, money was pledged to purchase activity equipment to add to the Lower School playground and this week, as the summer term started, the Schools younger pupils have been enjoying the new additions to their play area.
Besides enjoying nature and sitting quietly in the Wildlife Garden, that resides adjacent to the Lower School building and the Ellesmere College Parents Society contributed to last year, younger pupils can now enjoy the fun of climbing and testing their balancing skills during the daily break-times.
Sharon Owen, Head of Lower School, commented, When I arrived as the new Head of Lower School last September, I was keen to create such an activity play area for our young pupils. With the Wildlife Garden now well established amongst our pupils as a peaceful place for quiet play, the climbing frame and other equipment gives our pupils a new area to enjoy and that also encourages activity. The pupils, and my team of Lower School teachers are all delighted that the parents have come up trumps again with their support to ensure that this project was fulfilled for the start of the summer term.
