Ellesmere College Lower School Contribute to Children in Need and Operation Christmas Child

During the last few weeks Ellesmere College Lower School children have been busy collecting coins for Children in Need and filling shoe boxes as part of the School's support to the annual Operation Christmas Child Appeal.

 

There has been a growing collection of copper in the Lower School Secretary's office as pupils have been collecting loose change from family members and donating them as part of the School's support to the BBC Children in Need Appeal. The children also held a cake sale on the Friday and, together with the coins, raised a total of £150.

 

In addition, as part of the School's annual support to Operation Christmas Child, shoe boxes are being filled by both staff and pupils. The Lower School pupils' efforts are being complimented by other Senior School pupils who are ensuring that boxes are also being filled for an older age-group of children.

 

Bill Hutchings, Head of Lower School commented: 'Each year the families of pupils and staff are very supportive of these two worthwhile causes and I am delighted that, again this year, the pupils and their families have supported Children in Need and that we are also sending filled boxes to Operation Christmas Child's local distribution centre in Wrexham.'
