Ellesmere College Choral Society Epiphanytide Service in St Mary's Church

Last Sunday members of the Ellesmere College Choral Society joined the congregation of St Mary's Church in Ellesmere for the Service of Readings, Carols and Hymns for Epiphanytide.

Roger Paul, Director of Music at Ellesmere and Conductor of the Choral Society sang the vocal solo for 'The Three Kings' and he also commented, 'It is always a pleasure for the Choral Society to be invited to sing in the local community and I was extremely pleased with the choir's overall performance.'

The organ accompanist was Anthony Dowlen who has had a long association with the School and Choral Society. The retiring collection raised £150 which was equally split between St Mary's Church and The Christian Society.

Later this term, during the evening on Saturday 15th March, the Ellesmere College Chapel and Lower School Choirs will be joined by the Choral Society to perform a variety of music in the '3 Choirs' Concert in Big School. Then, in June, members of the Choral Society will be joining the Schools' choirs for the 2008 Ellesmere College Music Tour to Barcelona where they will perform at numerous venues around this beautiful Spanish city.

The Ellesmere College Choral Society meet every Monday during term time at 7.30pm in the Arts Centre and new members from the local community are always welcome to join. For additional information, Roger Paul can be contacted at Ellesmere College
