As part of the on-going developments at Ellesmere College, a Sports Centre Manager has been appointed to create further opportunities for pupils and members of the local community to access courses using the School's sports facilities.
As a member of Welsh Frankton Cricket Club, Chris Rogers has been a regular visitor to the School's Sports Hall with the junior cricket team. Chris lives in Ellesmere and after leaving school went to NEWI, Wrexham where he studied for a degree in Sports Management, achieving a BA Honours last summer. He then spent a few months working for Camp America before joining Whitchurch Leisure Centre as Assistant Manager.
Ian Williams, Director of Sport, commented, 'We are delighted to welcome Chris to Ellesmere College. His main focus will be to develop links with the community and to expand the use of the College sports facilities through sports courses and evening hire.'
Chris will also be promoting the external membership of the School's 9-hole golf course and organising holiday activities for children aged 8 to 16. For further information of the courses that are being planned, Chris can be contacted via the main College number, 01691 622321, extension 313.
