Daily Mail Cup Rugby Success for Under 15 Team

Following a competitive away win against Marches School, Oswestry, the Under 15 Rugby Team have reached the stage of being one of just 64 schools remaining in this years Daily Mail U15 Cup.

The U15 Daily Mail game played last week away against The Marches  School was won by 50 points to 7. Mike Sampson, Deputy Head Pastoral and the Under 15 Coach commented, The start of the game against the Marches was disrupted by an injury to an opposition player but eventually we got going. Our first score was immediately countered as the lively opposition scrum half jinked over from a maul. Marches were a compact but physical team and it became clear that we would have to work for our victory, but our greater organisation and team play told as the game went on and we were able to run in some pleasing scores.

The team has won 7 of the 8 games played to-date, scoring 274 points against 69 and in the process scoring more than 50 tries so far this season.

The teams next game will be next week when they are at home to St Ambrose College, Altrincham, for a place in the last 32.
