Three excited Combined Cadet Force Navy Cadets are excited awaiting their forthcoming trip to London to attend a Buckingham Palace Garden Party.
The 3 Year 9 pupils, Annabelle Rogan, Molly Venner and Harry Clewlow have been chosen to represent the CCF Navy Section at the School and accompanied by one of the Schools Navy officers, Ac. Sub Lt. Michael Coats, the group will be leaving School on Saturday 3rd July to travel to Portsmouth. They will be staying on HMS Bristol, where they will brush up on their parade drills before going on Tuesday to march down the Mall to the garden party.
The Buckingham Palace garden party takes place on Tuesday 6th July, when the cadets will parade in front of members of the Royal Family and their guests which will include a trio of proud parents. The involvement of Navy Cadets is part of the Cadet 150 celebrations which is the anniversary of the formation of the cadet movement.
Lt. Frank Brooke commented, We were delighted when the School was invited to join the celebratory parade at Buckingham Palace. Annabelle, Molly and Harry were selected for their contribution to the Navy Section and will enjoy, what I imagine will be, a very memorable day.
