Bazaar supports African Charity

As part of the end of term festivities, this year's Monduli Christmas Bazaar, held in Big School, involved pupils of all ages and attracted families as well as members of staff to support.

The event offered festive food and crafts from around the world, as well as various activities, including a visit to Father Christmas, complete with sleigh and an elf. The total raised was 448 for the School's overseas charity, Monduli Green, in Tanzania.

Three years ago, the instigator of support from the School for this charity was Cathy Allen, Head of EAL Teacher, who commented, I am delighted that the School continues to embrace fundraising for this African charity. Several villages about one hours walk from Monduli have so far benefited from the arrival of water to their villages and the beginnings of nurseries to reforest the surrounding land.   The money raised from this years event, will be used to invest in a secure fence for the nurseries, fuel efficient stoves for cooking and in the creation of electricity from solar energy.

Cathy Allen added, Besides everyone who came to the Bazaar, Monduli Green would like to also thank the local businesses who supported the event, most notably, The Co-op, Stan's Supermarket, Ellesmere Books and Marks and Spencers, Oswestry.
