Swimmers Represent Their County at the National Team Swimming Championships

Fifteen Ellesmere swimmers are set to represent their county at the 2017 /18 National County Team Swimming Championships. This year's National County Team Championships will be held this coming Sunday, the 8th of October, at the magnificent swimming arena of Ponds Forge in Sheffield. The National County Championships are the traditional start of the competitive short course (25M) season and will see more than 900 of the country's best swimmers compete from 36 counties.

More than 25% of the eligible swimmers from the elite Ellesmere College Titans swimming academy will be swimming for an amazing six different counties at this year's Championships. Lower School is also represented and provides the youngest swimmer to be picked for Shropshire, and indeed for any individual event at the Championships itself, at age 11.

This is a fantastic achievement for the program and makes Ellesmere College Titans the 'top county club in the UK' in terms of the number of different counties supported and also the proportion of swimmers contributed to these prestigious championships. This is particularly impressive when you take into account the number of 'senior' Titans that are unavailable following recent international duty ahead of the forthcoming Winter Nationals.
