With many families visiting Lower School last Saturday for an Open Morning, the staff and pupils were kept busy escorting visitors around the School whilst a number of football matches and Making Waves swimming lessons were also taking place.
A considerable amount of academic work from Years 2 to 8 pupils were on display as well as artwork created by KS2 pupils during a recent Field Day and in the foyer of the Schools Arts Centre, there was an exhibition of Sixth Form International Baccalaureate Diploma Art.
Visiting children had the opportunity to participate in a number of activities, including Mathematics puzzles, print-making and playing a variety of musical instruments as families progressed around Lower School.
Many Senior School pupils,. who started in Lower School, were on hand to offer tours of the sports facilities, Arts Centre and main building, including the Chapel where the organ was being played. Senior Music Scholars, accompanied by the Director of Music, performed the background music much enjoyed by all visitors having Tea in Big School.
Brendan Wignall, Headmaster commented, I am always keen to ensure that the Schools Open events are meaningful to all our visitors. Although such events are traditionally supported well by our current parents, it is always a delight to meet families visiting us for the first time as well as those enjoying a second visit.
