Two College Pupils Win Prestigious Cup at Chester Music Festival.
Last weekend at the 2007 Chester Music Festival, two pupils at Ellesmere won the prestigious Under-14 duet competition.
Luke Taylor and Paddy Fuller, both violin players and pupils at Ellesmere spent much of their recent Easter holidays practicing their pieces and perfecting playing together.
Roger Paul, Director of Music at Ellesmere College commented, ‘Music plays a significant role at the School and the mixture of excellent coaching and the determination and dedication of these two young talented musicians has resulted in considerable external recognition. Luke and Paddy have spent much of their personal time together recently improving their duet playing skills. We were particularly delighted that the boys won the competition since it is the first time in three years that the judges have decided to award the Brown of Chester Plate for an outstanding duet performance.’
